Tuesday, December 12, 2017 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Older adults continue to develop and grow throughout their lives. Becoming older does not mean the end to accomplishing goals, finding meaning in life, and contributing to the lives of others. During this interactive workshop we will: 1. Discuss how negative stereotypes about aging affect psychological and physical well being. 2. Learn how to use the SOC model (Select, Optimize, and Compensate) to achieve goals. The workshop is presented by Saul Richman. Saul is a social worker who works in elder services for a community action agency. He is especially interested in human development throughout the lifespan.
