League of Women Voters Education Fund grant

Upcoming event
Where I Live: Transportation
Come listen to stories and make your own vehicle
Intended audience: children and teens
Date and Time: TBA

This winter, Smith Hill received a grant from the League of Women Voters Education Fund. With this money we were able to purchase 86 books for children and young adults. All of the books compliment the Where I Live program which I run at Smith Hill after school and at the Paul Cuffee School. Where I Live explores the urban American Community. The first week looks at it from the persective of a citizen and we do activities related to rights and voting. We explore other topics such as: maps, transportation, urban architecture, community leaders, and photography in their neighborhood.
