PCL is delighted to announce that the Champlin Foundation has awarded PCL a grant of $390,500 to install new electrical and fire systems in Knight Memorial Library. The grant is the second award to be made by Champlin for work on the historic building since 2017, when it gave $544,800 to repair, renovate and preserve the library's exterior. Cleaning and renovations to exterior masonry as well as repairs to the roof, guttering, cornice and skylights took place in late summer 2018. The work on the electrical and fire systems will be completed in Spring 2019.
The Distribution Committee of the Champlin Foundation is pleased to provide grant funding to PCL to help this important institution advance its vital mission. Champlin Foundation grants are awarded on a competitive basis and the grants to PCL are a reflection of its confidence in the organization’s ability to improve the lives of Rhode Islanders in significant ways.
