Saving for college? Preparing for retirement? Repairing your credit? Just wish you were better at managing your money? Providence Community Library (PCL) is partnering with local experts to offer free financial workshops during Money Smart Week, a national awareness campaign created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to help consumers better manage their personal finances. PCL‘s free workshops from April 23 -30 will cut through the confusion, help you better understand financial issues and plan for the future.
Our Money Smart Week activities range from piggy bank crafts for youngest children, through information sessions for parents and teens planning for college, to workshops for adults dealing with critical issues such as improving a credit score, paying off debt and planning for retirement. Presenters include Dana Peterson-Fatuda of the Rhode Island General Treasurer's Office, personal finance guru Crystal Hall and advisors from Junior Achievement RI. Seth Magaziner, State Treasurer, will be our special guest at two workshops at South Providence on April 26: You May Have Unclaimed Property (4:00PM-6:00PM) and Money Myths: The Real Story (6:00PM-7:30PM.
