At this time of year, it's nice to spend time out of doors while the days are long and the weather is good. PCL has a number of programs that will help you do just that!
Our comprehensive Summer Reading Program for kids and teens, which continues through August 23, includes regular outdoor activities. Visit the Mobile Library as it tours the city on its regular weekly schedule and enjoy some outdoor yoga in the sunshine at Washington Park with Sunflower Kids Yoga on July 18.
Kids can explore The Universe of Stories at the following open-air programs: Wanskuck Library presents Stories & Yoga in General Street Park on Tuesdays at 1:00PM in July and August; Smith Hill Library staff will present a Story Time at Joseph P. Hassett Sr. Memorial Park on Wednesdays at noon; while Fox Point Community Library hosts an all-ages Story Time in the Park at Cabral Park on Thursdays at 10:00AM. Finally, over at Valley Street, Olneyville staff presents Story Time at Donigian Park on Fridays at noon.
For adults who enjoy gardening and growing their own food, Mount Pleasant's Garden Club is the place to go, with meetings at Davis Park on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There's still time to plant vegetables for a fall harvest - learn how from URI Gardener Sandra Cook at Rochambeau on July 25.
