FUNDA Fest Workshops in January - UPDATE

If it's January, it's time for FUNDA Fest, the annual, statewide festival of storytelling from the Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS). FUNDA means to teach and learn in Zulu and KiSwahili. From January 26 - February 2, adults and children will be able to experience some of the best cultural arts programming across Rhode Island at venues that include schools, community and cultural arts centers, libraries and theatres.  

PCL will be host three library-based, family-friendly FUNDA Fest workshop events, featuring the talents of RIBS performers Raffini and Marlon Carey, as a compliment to the statewide program of FUNDA Fest events:

FUNDA celebrates 22  years of sharing stories from Black traditions, this year highlighting connections with South Africa. In partnership with the Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading, FUNDA FEST presents storytellers and poets for more than a week in schools and public venues, culminating with RIBS’ presence at the Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading.For more information about all FUNDA Fest events around Rhode Island, see the full schedule
