Getting Out: A Reading & Discussion with Prof. Keith Morton
Wednesday, December 11 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Smith Hill Library
Professor Keith Morton of Providence College spent eight years codirecting a safe-space program for youth involved in gang or street violence in Providence. His book, Getting Out: Youth Gangs, Violence, and Positive Change is a result of the innovative perspectives he developed as he worked alongside staff from the Nonviolence Institute to help young people make positive, life-affirming choices. Morton contends that to help these young people, we need to change our question from “What is wrong with you?” to “Are you okay?”
