Congratulations to Library Manager Joseph Morra and staff at Olneyville Library, who have received a $15,000 from the United Way of Rhode Island's Olneyville Community Fund for a pilot project called the Olneyville Preschool Hub.
The project’s goal is to provide social-emotional skills for preschool-age children and school readiness skills for those who will be entering kindergarten in fall 2020. Using a two-generation approach, parents will be engaged in various, multi-week learning opportunities that will support their children’s learning at home. Some additional good news is that the funding will also allow the Olneyville Library to extend its hours on two days per week in order to serve the neighborhood better.
More news about this exciting development will be available soon.
