Happy Halloween - 2020 Style

Halloween is always a special time of year at PCL. This year, safety and social distancing considerations have shaped our programs but they are no less fun and creative than in previous years. And yes, we ARE offering some safe, in-person events - and even a few for adults.

Here's the line-up so far but please check back for additional programs: 

Middle Grade Read-Aloud
Mondays & Wednesdays, continuing through November 16 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. 
PCL Online 
Ms Carla of Fox Point Library is currently reading  Victoria Schwab's City of Ghosts series in this twice-weekly virtual program. 

Creature Feature Drawing Contest 
October 1 - 23
Rochambeau Library 
Rochambeau is offering a Halloween-themed art contest for artists 16+ - create a Halloween inspired creature in any media or art style and submit the drawing by October 23rd at this link: https://bit.ly/2FWKZ0I. Contact Mike at the Reference desk for further details or email

Halloween Takeaway Bags
Pick-up: October 13-17 during scheduled hours
South Providence Library
All elementary grade students are invited to come to South Providence Library between October 13 - 17 to collect TAKEAWAY BAGS filled with supplies to create Halloween crafts at home. The library will supply some ideas but the size of your imagination is the only limit! There will be prizes later for the best creations. Contact: Edilberta

Knightmare on Elmwood - A Haunted Library Maze!

Join us (if you dare!) for a spooky tour of our library's basement, filled with ancient books and spirits! Witches, monsters, and ghosts lurk around every corner - can you find your way back out? This haunted house will be socially distanced; small groups will be kept together, and masks are required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. One night only! Contact Emily

Hey Kids! Visit us for candy while wearing your Halloween costume. We will take pictures of you with your costume on, and the best costume will win a prize as determined by our judges. (The winner will be later notified to pick up their prize!)
Note: During this event, to protect you and us, we require that you maintain six feet of social distancing and wear masks while in the library. Further, only 10 people will be allowed into the library at once. Contact:
