The Library Friends of Knight Memorial Library invite everyone to a neighborhood celebration of the reopening of the library building at 275 Elmwood Avenue on Wednesday, October 25 at 3:00PM.The Knight Memorial building closed temporarily in late July for essential repairs and upgrades. Come and shop fresh and world produce at the last Sankofa Market of the season on the library's lawn, then pick up some gently used bargains at the Friends' book shop. Neighborhood leaders have been invited. We hope you can come!
Services and programs will resume at Knight Memorial from October 23 during normal scheduled hours, Monday to Friday but the building will be closed on Saturdays until the end of the year. Saturday hours will continue at South Providence Library, 441 Prairie Avenue until the end of 2017.
Youth programming and after school help, which continued during the closure at the nearby West End Recreation Center, will return to the Knight Memorial building from October 23. However, Knight Memorial's Spanish language GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes will continue to be held at the Center for South East Asians until at least the end of 2017.
