I want to thank you and each and every member of our library community for your continued support. You have brought our staff joy during a challenging time by visiting our libraries, using our outdoor WIFI, gathering under our library tents for outdoor programs, joining in online events, subscribing to our YouTube channel, picking up activity bags, and continuing to borrow and read our books. Thank you for believing in public libraries as vibrant community hubs and for your willingness to work with us as we adapted to the times and found creative new ways to include more people in our programs --- we won't forget!
As we enter into a new year, I wish each of you good health, peace, and hope for a better and brighter future. I know so many in our community have suffered and I assure you that the Library will not forget the disproportionate and devastating effect this pandemic has had (and continues to have) on so many of our Providence neighbors. We want to join with you to build a better future for our city. Civic engagement is essential. Working toward greater equity in healthcare and education are critical goals. Black Lives Matter.
Let's join together and summon our energy to move forward in 2021. Let's use the pain of this year to grow a more inclusive city.
With my best wishes for tomorrow,
