New Year, New Language!

December 21, 2015 - 10:24am -- sshea

Spanish is spoken by more than 500 million people in the world and is the first language of a substantial number of residents in Providence. Why not join one of our Learn to Speak Spanish courses, starting in January, to learn or improve your knowledge of this important language?

Our classes are taught by Luis Contreras, a professional Spanish teacher whose skills have earned the highest praise from his students. "I have studied Romance, Slavic, Germanic, Asian and Sign languages under a couple dozen language instructors and Luis Contreras ranks in the very highest tier” said a class participant. “His teaching… is laced with drama and humor. It is an honor and privilege to be a part of his classroom." The classes will focus on grammar, conversation and writing.

Learn to Speak Spanish courses will be offered at Mount Pleasant, Rochambeau and South Providence. Space is limited, so register now! A $25 materials fee will be collected at the first session. Register at library front desks or contact Carolina Briones 401-467-2700 X 1608 for more information.
