PCL is excited to host Summer Afterzone PVD Young Makers Camps in partnership with the Providence After School Alliance (PASA). Camps will take place at Olneyville, Rochambeau, South Providence and Wanskuck in two sessions:

Session #1: Monday - Friday, July 8 – July 19 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Session #2: Monday - Friday July 22 – August 22 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Explore a Universe of Stories with Summer Reading

The theme of this year's summer reading program is A Universe of Stories - an inspiring title for readers of all ages! PCL has worked with the City of Providence and several partner organizations to create more than 400 fun learning activities and free performances which are designed to encourage students to start reading - and keep reading - all summer long. We want children to enjoy reading and become lifelong readers!

Join Professor Susan Smulyan of Brown University on Thursday, June 20 at South Providence Library for the last presentation in the Long Story Short series, as she explores the connections between art and education in the South Providence neighborhood. Looking Forward to a Cooler Summer at Knight Memorial

PCL is pleased to announce that Knight Memorial Library will remain open all summer! Due to recent upgrades to the historic building, the library will remain open to the public during the warmest weeks of the year. PCL began an extensive, multistage renovation of Knight Memorial in 2018,  which includes updates to mechanical and electrical systems required to support the eventual installation of a full HVAC system throughout the building.
