Two New Programs in Spanish

PCL provides materials, services and programs for many library users whose first language is Spanish. This month, we are launching two workshop series, Como Hablar Exitosamente en Publico (How to Speak Successfully in Public) at Knight Memorial Library and Clases de Computación Básica en Español (Basic Computer Skills in Spanish) at South Providence Library.

Redesign a Cover in National Picture Book Month

November is National Picture Book Month and Knight Memorial Library has launched a fabulous contest to celebrate it! Kids and youth in grades 4-12 are invited to select a new or favorite picture book (Ms Allison or Ms Melissa can supply suggestions), reimagine the cover in any medium and submit the new design at Knight Memorial by November 29.  Winners will have their art framed and displayed at the library and receive a $25 gift card to a store of their choice.

Knight Memorial's Open Again - Celebrate With Us!

The Library Friends of Knight Memorial Library invite everyone to a neighborhood celebration of the reopening of the library building at 275 Elmwood Avenue on Wednesday, October 25 at 3:00PM.The Knight Memorial building closed temporarily in late July for essential repairs and upgrades. Come and shop fresh and world produce at the last Sankofa Market of the season on the library's lawn, then pick up some gently used bargains at the Friends' book shop. Neighborhood leaders have been invited. We hope you can come!

We will use the responses to inform our strategic planning process and help us to chart a course for the future. It takes just 10 minutes to complete!

Free Halloween Events for Kids

Our staff know that young library users love Halloween, so we always make the Library a special place to enjoy spooky stories, goulish games, crazy crafts and costumes, and, of course, candy!  Here's a handy rundown of PCL's Halloween happenings this season.
