The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities at Rhode Island College has selected South Providence Library for an “Access for All Abilities” mini-grant in the amount of $2,200. The award will be used to install an automatic swing door operator at the Croyland Road side front entrance. The new door will make it easier for every patron to fully access the library. We are excited about this improvement to our services and are grateful to the Sherlock Center for the award.

Drop-ins are encouraged and no appointments required.
Yes, it's back! Once again, we'll be turning Rochambeau Library into a mini golf course, just for one day. On Saturday, November 4, you'll be able to play family golf from 1:00PM-6:00PM for just $5 a person, payable on the door. From 7:00PM-10:00PM, there will be a grown-up golf party, with wine, beer, food and additional entertainment from DJ Andy Morris. Tickets for the golf party are $30, or $27 if purchased in advance via this page. Proceeds go towards our youth education programming.
PCL was delighted to welcome Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) and poet Tina Cane to an event marking the launch of the Poetry in Motion in Rhode Island. The event took place, appropriately, on a RIPTA bus, parked outside Rochambeau Library! Through Poetry in Motion, public transport users will be able to read and contemplate poems and extracts of poems on the digital display boards inside about half of RIPTA’s fixed-route bus fleet.
By now, you will have seen media coverage anticipating the total solar eclipse event on Monday, August 21. A partial eclipse will be viewable in Rhode Island.
Have you been taking part in the fun contest created by our PCL Friends Groups? There's still time to pick up a special Discover booklet at any PCL location, look for the owl "hidden" on the shelves and tell the front desk where you saw it. Staff will stamp your booklet and give you a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize!
