After a tough late winter, it's a pleasure to see the trees and flowers around our libraries bursting bud and filling the neighborhoods with color.
Tulips donated by the Peace Flag Project and planted by the Library's Friends group were recently in full bloom at Knight Memorial Library."Many people have slowed and stopped on Elmwood Avenue to savor the intensity of the blooms" said Knight Memorial Friend Doug Victor, "It's a testimony to how transformative the smaller things can be," he added.
Both South Providence and Wanskuck Library celebrated Earth Day in late April by holding cleanups and plantings. The South Providence event attracted 30 people, while Wanskuck's event, which was supported by Providence Parks & Recreation, concluded with an outdoor yoga session!
