A Matter of Balance For Seniors
Wednesdays September 20 to November 15, 2:00PM-4:00PM
If you are 60 or older, have suffered falls in the past, restrict your activities through fear of falling, or seek more confidence and flexibility, this program is for you! Many older adults experience a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. It includes eight, two-hour sessions for a small group of 8-12 participants led by a trained facilitator. Curious? Then attend an introductory coffee hour at Rochambeau on September 13, 2:00PM-3:00PM to find out more!
The workshops are provided for free by the Own Your Health Collaborative in partnership with Federal Hill House, Rhode Island Parent Information Network, RI Department of Health and The RI Geriatric Education Center at URI. Contact for details.
