Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea: establish a day that encourages people to do good by making donations to their favorite causes. The day that was chosen was the first Tuesday that follows Thanksgiving, which this year falls on December 3.
Buy Nothing Day takes place annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving. On that day, you're invited to give rather than spend by donating new or gently-used winter gear at donation sites to help out our neighbors in need.
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Do you have what it takes to write your own novel? November is definitely the month to find out! Join like-minded writers at these local workshops, all of which will help you get from "Page One" to "The End."

Fox Point Library's new Community Mural project is ready for a first viewing! The mural, which is painted on the wall surrounding the courtyard of the Fox Point Library, is a joint project of Providence Community Library's Fox Point location and PVD Young Makers. Library users and local community members have contributed to the mural, which was designed by Fall River artist, Marina Katayeva.
