Summer Math Programs at PCL

July 17, 2017 - 11:27am -- jfuentes

Did you know that children lose math skills as well as reading skills over the summer months?  A Duke University study demonstrated that students lose the equivalent of 2.6 months in computational ability over the summer months. To fight the loss of numeracy skills, PCL is offering twice-weekly math sessions from July 11 - August 18 at most locations, led by a math consultants from the Providence Schools. Children who complete the program alongside our regular Summer Reading Program will be doubly prepared for a return to school!

There's a Summer Reading Program for Adults, too!

Are you 18+ and ready to take on Mount Pleasant's Book-to-Movie Adult Summer Challenge? Read three books and watch a movie adaptation, starting a new book every three weeks. The Challenge starts June 24 and movies will be screened at Mount Pleasant Library on July 19, August 9 and August 30. Call 401-272-0106 for more information.
