Food insecurity is a real problem in Providence for many families. Summer can be a particularly difficult time for children who are unable to access the free breakfasts and lunches they receive during the regular school year. PCL is partnering with the City of Providence Summer Meals Program to ensure that children continue to have access to a nourishing lunch at libraries for the duration of the Summer Reading Program.
Get ready to rock with PCL and enjoy a summer filled with great books, fun learning activities and free performances by entertainers. Make daily reading time a central of your child's summer; sign up for the summer reading program at any PCL location and your child can earn prizes for reading just 20 minutes every day!
Brown University and PCL will be collaborating on a range of community partnership projects over the next five years, thanks to a grant from the American Studies Association (ASA).
