Cathren Housley, an award-winning artist and illustrator and a graduate of RISD's Children's Book Illustration Program, has been been teaching workshops at PCL since 2013. Her current workshop series, Maker's Box Recycled, encourages youth to utilize various recycled items to create fun works of art.

On Saturday, November 9, an estimated 400-500 people gathered at the Center at Moore Hall, Providence College, to celebrate Latino culture, arts and literature.
Ferias del Libro (Book Fairs) are popular events in the Spanish-speaking world. About half of the residents of Providence are of Latino origin and many speak Spanish as a first language. Feria del Libro deserves to become an important and anticipated annual event in our city's calendar. We are working to make it so!

The annual Neighborhood Comics Fest held on November 2 was a smashing success! A joint collaboration between Mount Pleasant and Olneyville libraries, this free, family-friendly event was created as a free alternative to the RI ComiCon taking place downtown. Almost 100 children, teens and adults attended.
