Inspirational Women Exhibit

Documented Voices, Stories, Portraits MULTIMEDIA EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY:

The exhibit documents the voices, stories and portraits of Rhode Island women of achievement and features photographs by Providence Journal photojournalist, Kris Craig. Recorders and headsets will be available in libraries to enable visitors to listen to prerecorded audio stories about each portrait subject as they tour the exhibit. 

Inspirational Women features the likenesses and stories of the following nine women:

  • Karen Allen Baxter (Senior Managing Director, Rites and Reason Theatre in the Department of Africana Studies, Brown University
  • Becci Davis (Interdisciplinary Artist) 
  • Gail Davis (Volleyball coaching legend, YWCA Board member)
  • Ashley Faulkner (Chef and co-owner, Bucktown PVD) 
  • Courtney Hoggard-Savage (Associate, Milken Institute, Brown University rugby coach and player)
  • Melissa Husband (Deputy RI Secretary of State)
  • Kendall Moore PhD, (Documentary filmmaker and Professor, University of Rhode Island) 
  • Beatrice Pulliam (Librarian and Technology Director, Providence Public Library) 
  • Victoria Tolbert (Captain, RI National Guard)

This multimedia exhibit – produced by the YWCA – documents the voices, stories and portraits of 9 inspirational Rhode Island women, with portraits by photojournalist Kris Craig.
