Meet our York Teen Interns!

Thanks to a generous $15,000 grant from the Otto H. York Foundation, PCL has recruited nine high school student interns, aged 14 – 18, to create compelling youth programs, mentor younger children and serve on PCL’s Teen Advisory Council.  Welcome Phoebe (Fox Point), Eder (Knight Memorial), Valentina (Mount Pleasant), Ameenat (Olneyville), Ryan (Rochambeau), Izzy (Smith Hill), Chantel (South Providence), Kankan (Wanskuck) and Dylan (Washington Park)!

One intern is attached to each of PCL’s nine locations, presenting programs of their own design for upper elementary, middle, and high school students. Program offerings include debating skills, stand up “improv,”film making, photography, art, creative writing, global issues, science and health and girls’ clubs. Here, our talented young recruits introduce themselves - in their own words.
