Learn the principles of savings seeds with URI Master Gardeners and the Providence Seed Library at this virtual workshop!
About this event
Join URI Master Gardener Bill Baddeley for a virtual talk on the basics of saving vegetable seeds! He will cover the benefits of seed saving for the home gardener, the basic principles of seed saving, and describe in detail how to save seeds using two examples.
Then we will hear from the 2020/21 Artist-in-Residence at the Providence Office of Sustainability Fatema Maswood about the Providence Seed Library. The Providence Seed Library is a living collection of open-pollinated, heirloom and culturally resonant seeds sustained by new and experienced gardeners, and housed at participating Providence Community Library locations (Knight Memorial, Mount Pleasant, Rochambeau and Washington Park).
