Take part in a creative workshop for adults from the crumpled map of everyday weirdness, guided by the local artist MJ Robinson.

X MARKS THE SPOT is a creative workshop at Mt. Pleasant Library from the crumpled map of everyday weirdness. Using simple map-drawing exercises, we will navigate our memories and find treasures to prompt creative writing or comic-making.

Your guide, MJ Robinson, is an illustrator and multidisciplinary artist in the school of everyday weirdness (ew school). Their stories, drawings, and comics create portals into real and imagined worlds for kids of all ages. Lately, MJ is inspired by nature, local histories and futures, miniatures, folklore, and ghost stories. In their work as an educator and community organizer, MJ encourages playful creative visioning in movements for social justice—with a particular focus on racial and environmental justice, and LGBTQIA2S+ joy and well-being in Providence, RI and beyond. Follow their adventures at mj-robinson.com.
