Dazzling dioramas on display at Providence City Hall through March

Published Date:
March 4, 2015

For the month of March, Providence Community Library has installed artwork on the third floor of City Hall, just outside the City Clerk's office. Each shoebox-sized piece depicts a scene from a book, created by adults and teens for the library's annual diorama showcase and contest.

Dear Diorama 2 was held at the Rochambeau Library on February 24, 2015. Twenty-five contestants created scenes based on a book of their choice and competed for prizes awarded by judges and a popular vote. More than 150 people attended the second annual event, which was made possible with in-kind support from Cellar Stories Bookstore, Craftland, the Providence Athenaeum, Narragansett Beer, and Whole Foods University Village.

To view the creations, stop by the third floor of City Hall during the month of March.
